Redevelopment Van Hasseltlaan, Delft

DUWO wants to redevelop the outdated student housing on Van Hasseltlaan in Delft. We are happy to coordinate these plans with the current residents, local residents and the municipality of Delft.

Current developments March 2024

Residents and local residents have many concerns and questions about the project. We would like to continue to have a good discussion about this. We understand the concerns, it is a major project with an impact on the immediate living environment. There is criticism of the preliminary phase (the creation of the municipality's Plan Elaboration Framework), of the ongoing participation process that DUWO is organizing and of the communication about the project. We are currently taking a break from the project. We consider the steps to be taken and coordinate this with the municipality. We would like to discuss the participation process with the stakeholders (think of the structure, number of meetings, working method) and then further advance the content of the plans together with them. We will resume this conversation in a constructive manner in the foreseeable future. Previously we mentioned the date of April 15 for the next meeting, but it will not take place yet. The municipality will first organize a residents' evening about the Plan Development Framework (PUK). To this end, she sends an invitation to the wider area and the residents.

The plan intention
The student residences on Van Hasseltlaan date from 1974 and are outdated. In addition, there is still a serious shortage of student housing in Delft. For these reasons, DUWO is investigating the possibility of redeveloping the buildings on Van Hasseltlaan. This can involve refurbishing, but also (partial) demolition and new construction, with extra student housing to be added.

Renovatie Hoogbouw

Municipal frameworks
The plan that we are going to make must meet a number of frameworks that the municipality has established. These frameworks are contained in a so-called Plan Elaboration Framework (PUK) (only available in Dutch). So this is not a plan yet. Now that the frameworks are known, internal decision-making at DUWO will follow about this plan proposal and our project organization can be set up.

Questions and answers
DUWO and the municipality regularly receive questions about the Van Hasseltlaan project. We try to answer as many questions as possible via the list below, so that everyone has the same questions and answers. For the sake of readability, similar questions and answers have been combined or summarized where possible and divided into categories. Some questions require an answer from DUWO, others are within the municipality's domain and others are both. You will find this in the various answer columns. Questions are presented and answered as accurately as possible, no rights can be derived from the list. The list is updated with new incoming questions. You will always find the most current version on this website, recognizable by the date at the top of the document.

Presentation and report information evening

The information evening for local residents took place on November 29. The municipality, Vakwerk and DUWO held a presentation. You can find its contents here. You can read the report of the meeting here (only available in Dutch)

Tweede buurtbijeenkomst 1 februari 2024
