Fair housing for all students
DUWO fights for a fair home for every student, regardless of background and nationality. That is why we are continuously committed to increasing the supply of affordable student housing, but we realize that this also involves reliable services and a living experience that suits the life you lead as a student. Because DUWO is a non-profit organization, we can fully focus on this without a profit motive. We have been doing this for almost three quarters of a century and that means that we know what our students want and need. With these insights we can build, rent and manage sustainable student housing at fair prices and in which every student feels at home.
Take a look at our locations!
There is a huge selection of housing on offer at DUWO. We have self-contained studios with private facilities (kitchen, toilet and bathroom), and also rooms where the facilities are shared with other residents. We have buildings in the inner cities, we have new buildings, and even student rooms in historic listed buildings. Each building is unique. Facilities often include a large or small communal area, a living room, study or communal kitchen. For example, you can watch a movie with your neighbours or house mates, play table football, cook meals together, study in peace and quiet or just chill out. Why not take a look at some of our buildings here. If this makes you want to know more, then check out the
We continue to build!
Thanks to our extensive experience in developing projects for both new buildings and renovations, we are able to design and deliver such projects quickly and efficiently. We do this in collaboration with the municipality, educational institutions and real estate parties. In order to reduce the shortage of student accommodation, we are looking at long-term as well as short-term options. We principally build student accommodations located near educational institutions and campuses. Additionally, we also consider other central locations accessible by public transport and existing buildings to (temporarily) convert them into student accommodations. Our projects pay close attention to the immediate surroundings of the complex and/or campus area and their relationship with the city.
WAGENINGEN - MARIJKEWEG
A new student complex is being built in Wageningen at Marijkeweg 20. The new building with 350 homes was purchased by DUWO. After completion, the homes will be rented and managed by DUWO's Wageningen student housing provider: Idealis. Both student housing providers also worked together during the construction preparation.
HOOFDDORP - CAMDEN TOWN/HYDE PARK
A large new DUWO complex with 563 student homes is being built in the Hyde Park district of Hoofddorp: Camden Town. Construction started in June 2023. The complex is being built by external developers, but was purchased by DUWO. Construction is taking place entirely in accordance with the DUWO program of requirements for student housing.
DELFT BALTHASAR VAN DER POLWEG
A new student complex will be built on the Balthasar van Polweg in the foreseeable future: Balthasar van der Pol no. 4. In the same street, on the southern edge of the TU campus, there are already three DUWO student complexes: two towers that were completed in 1997 and a large student flat from 2011, better known as BalPol III. With the future construction of Balthasar van der Pol 4, a fourth will be added. The building will be located on the current parking lot between BalPol III and the Korvezeestraat student complex.
