- Electrical appliances:
- Spent batteries and light bulbs can often be recycled at supermarkets (e.g.Albert Heijn in Bijlmer Arena ), shops that sell appliances or IKEA
- Smaller electrical appliances can also be handed in at a shop that sells new appliances or IKEA
- Large appliances may be put out for collection as bulky waste - Consider giving away or selling furniture, clothes, food, etc. that is still usable instead of throwing it away:
- Bring your things to Rataplan or make a (free)pick-up appointment
- Offer it on the local Zero waste WhatsApp group
- Alternatively, 'Free Stuff Amsterdam', 'Free Stuff Amsterdam-Zuidoost' or 'Gratis in Amsterdam-Zuid' are some names of Facebook groups where the items can be offered. - Unused or expired medicines may be taken to your
local pharmacy for disposal - Old books can be put in the free library in the laundry room on Darling street
