Marijkeweg

A new student complex is being built in Wageningen at Marijkeweg 20. The new building with 350 homes was purchased by DUWO. After completion, the homes will be rented and managed by DUWO's Wageningen student housing provider: Idealis. Both student housing providers also worked together during the construction preparation.

The houses

Marijkeweg will have 140 independent homes (with their own front door, kitchen, bathroom and toilet) and 210 student rooms (non-self-contained homes with shared facilities). The independent homes will have an area of ​​24 m2 and the rooms will have 18 m2.

The large number of rooms in this new building is special: in recent years, mainly student flats with exclusively independent homes have been built. But the student room is making a comeback because of the great social bond: roommates, lots of fun and mutual support (especially for first-year students, for example). DUWO and Idealis are also strongly in favor of the addition of more rooms.

Services

There will be two common rooms in the Marijkeweg. Furthermore, in the summer it is nice to relax in the private courtyard. There will also be a launderette and a bicycle shed.

Environment

The Marijkeweg is conveniently located for students. It is a ten-minute bike ride to the university. The center of Wageningen is four minutes by bike. Also in the vicinity: three supermarkets, pharmacy, several fitness centers, dentist, bakery, restaurant and theater.

Sustainability

Gas is not used at the Marijkeweg. The building is sustainably heated (and also cooled in the summer) thanks to a WKO installation. Thanks to the WKO, energy costs are also low. Power comes from solar panels.

Build

Construction of the Marijkeweg will start on March 31. Delivery is expected in the first half of 2025. The builder is Plegt-Vos en ter Steege Bouw Vastgoed.

Contract and rental prices

The homes will be rented out by Idealis with a campus contract at rents affordable for students: starting rents are expected to be between 360 euros for the non-self-contained homes and 440 euros for the self-employed. More detailed rental prices will be announced later.

It is not yet possible to respond to these homes. The student homes will be offered two months before delivery on the ROOM supply platform.
