The buildings and facilities
The new building is located on the location of the former Social Affairs buildings and the fire station. The rooms are spread over 4 buildings with addresses at Langebrug, Dwarsboomgaardsteeg and Boomgaardsteeg. The addresses on Langebrug have elevators, so you do not have to hoist furniture up the stairs for these rooms. There is an indoor and locked bicycle shed.
Space has been created in the bathroom of each group of rooms to connect a washing machine.

Area
You live in the center of Leiden. All possible amenities such as cafes, terraces and supermarkets are within easy reach. The Breestraat, with every shop you can think of, is located parallel to Langebrug. You also live close to the Van der Werfpark: the ideal place to study in the sun in the summer.

You can reach Leiden station in 5 minutes by bike. The Faculty of Law of Leiden University is literally next door. Other faculties are within walking distance. The nearest (paid) parking lot is Garenmarkt.

An eye for sustainability
Sustainability has been taken into account in various ways. For example, solar boilers have been used. The solar boilers heat up just over half of the hot tap water (for showering). This saves about €50 per resident per year.

Residents also receive guidance on how to live more sustainably. The first residents of Langebrug have received a shower coach (a shower hourglass). And tips and tricks to save gas, electricity and water. Because living sustainably is not only good for the environment, but also for your wallet.
