Measures regarding the coronavirus

Reading time: 3 min

The coronavirus keeps everybody busy these days. We also notice this in our conversations with educational institutions and our tenants. Together we work and live in an international environment with accompanying travel behavior and often we are physically relatively close together. We can imagine that this topic also concerns you on a daily basis.

With this message we want to give you some extra advice, make clear what you can expect from DUWO and what we can do together to prevent the spread of the virus as much as possible.

DUWO follows instructions from the GGD (National Health Authority)

As a landlord, DUWO has no leading role in the corona virus. That role is for the GGD. DUWO follows the strict measures and instructions they set. DUWO only supports when the GGD is involved and in the lead and requires our help. If you show symptoms of the virus and have a minimum fever of 38.5 degrees, we advise you to contact the doctor immediately by telephone. If necessary, you will be referred to the GGD.

Even though we are not in "the lead", DUWO finds it important to know how you are doing. Because the GGD is not allowed to pass on information to DUWO due to privacy legislation, we would like to ask you to inform us if you are (possibly) infected and have been in contact with the GGD. We would also like to ask you to advise this to housemates in the same situation. We would like to emphasize that this is not mandatory, but based on recent experience, we hope that with a little more information we can support the GGD and you better. You can do this by sending us a contact form via the website www.duwo.nl/contactform or by calling 0900-2353896 and asking for the social manager of your complex.

Hygiene measures

Naturally, the general regulations of the GGD apply:

- Wash your hands regularly with soap and water

- Sneeze into your elbow instead of your hands

- Use paper tissues that you throw away immediately after use.

- Don't shake hands

From next week on DUWO will pay extra attention to this by placing posters in the complexes. If your a tenant you'll find this poster in you mailbox. You can print these yourself and hang them in places where DUWO has not (yet) hung them.

Extra attention to hygiene of "contact surfaces" is also an important measure that you can take against viruses. This concerns, for example, table surfaces, keyboards and door handles. We advise you to pay extra attention to this in your own environment. DUWO has instructed the cleaning companies to pay extra attention in the common areas to door handles, lift knobs and banisters.

Customer service

As a result of the announced measures by the cabinet today, we will keep our customer service counters closed in the coming weeks to prevent the virus from spreading as much as possible. We will of course remain available by phone and also via the contact form.

By taking these measures together, we hope to prevent the spread of the virus as much as possible.
